We spent yesterday at a Highland Games! Munro Jr really enjoyed watching, well, everything! I think he was totally gripped by the caber toss though. Something about it being “the traditional event.” It was kinda impressive right enough ;)
What really interested me was the Highland dancing that was on show. Incredible! They moved so fast! I gave it a go, but I’m sure I wasn’t as good as the girls doing it there. (But I guess that’s okay. Bet I’m a better surfer!) It’s great to learn even more about my highland heritage! And see it in action! Lol
It’s getting kind of late, so I’d best be off. Oidhche mhath!

WOW! The Heb Celt Festival was amazing!!! Sooo many good acts! There was an amazing opening concert, with great Gaelic singing! Too many acts to talk about, but I REALLY liked Seth Lakeman! Took my breath away! I’m sure I was cheering the loudest! I’m still pretty tired after this unforgettable weekend!

We’ve been sooo busy!! Seanair managed to find the tallest hill in the Outer Hebrides, “An Cliseam,” and we all went up. Morag wasn’t thrilled at the idea, but we lured her with some tea! :) We’ve seen some fab things! We went to Taigh Chearsabhagh in North Uist – it’s a museum and arts centre. There were loads of great exhibitions, including a bunch of origami birds made from recycled paper!
In South Uist, we saw the ruins of the house where Flora Macdonald was born. She helped Bonnie Prince Charlie escape after the Battle of Culloden over 250 years ago. Pretty exciting!
’S fheàrr dhomh falbh. The Hebridean Celtic festival starts tomorrow, and I’ve got to get ready. It should be a blast!

Hai a chàirdean! Ciamar a tha sibh uile? Tha mise a’ faireachdainn mìorbhaileach!! Tha sinn air àite eile a ruigsinn! Tha sinn ann an Leòdhas, is tha e a’ còrdadh ruim gu mòr!
There’s sooo much Gaelic here, it’s great! I’m really learning a lot! And we’ve only just arrived!
I think Seanair has plans for another hill walk. I’ll just have to show him how it’s done! I’m really looking forward to exploring the history of this area, too! I’m really going to learn a lot about my heritage!
Chì mi a-rithist sibh!
