Hey! Ciamar a tha thu? Glè mhath!

I've been totally practising my Gaelic ... it's awesome that a language that's been around for so long is still being used and new people are learning it, like me!

Wow .... I love the Highlands .. what a great place! Cousin Morag isn't totally convinced yet, but I'll bring her round. Maybe if she lightens up and stops seeing things as a problem and a worry. They're challenges!

The scenery is great and there's sooo much goin' on.

Bye for now.

Hey,

A quick note. Some people think that not much happens up here, but they're SOOO wrong. I took Morag to a rock show last night, to broaden her horizons. I think I constricted them instead sad face she didn't seem too impressed. Munro came too. He didn't say a lot, but he seemed to get right into it.

It was a late night, so I'm off to get breakfast. Seanair won't understand that. I think he dragged Brochan out for a walk hours ago! happy face

Hi guys,

I've been to a cèilidh. It's a sort of impromptu music and dancing frenzy! I kind of got swept off my feet my a guy in a kilt doing a dance called a 'Strip the willow'! Man, I was so shattered by the end of that... but it was great. So when Morag and I set off around the Highlands I'm going to try and go to a few more cèilidhs!

I think there's some old Gaelic tradition that the cèilidh comes from, but I guess I'll try and find that out along the way.

Hi everyone :¬)

I'm Melodaidh, an Australian girl in Scotland! I'm travelling to learn more about my family background over here. I'm with my cousin Morag, so I'm looking forward to a great 2007!

I'll let you know what I get up to and find out with this blog - I hope you'll keep reading.

We've hooked up with some nice people who are learning Gaelic, although .. WOW, what a dynamic!

Seanair, his grandson Munro Jr and Seanair's dog, Brochan. Weird name for a dog .. but I think the dog might be the most normal one of those guys!

Seanair's completely obsessed with climbing mountains, and he drags that dog with him all the time.

So I've kinda adopted Brochan and Seanair. Munro's a bit sulky - don't think he wants to be adopted! And there is another pet - a Gaelic creature called Dwelly. He's been teaching us.

Anyway, I gotta go, OK? Speak to you soon.
