Tha sinn air ais! Am mìos seo, tha sinn ann an Loch Abar, a-rithist! This month we’re back in Lochaber! It’s the Royal National Mòd this month, and it’s in Fort William! Although we were here in February, that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything left for us to do! There’s certainly still plenty for us to be getting on with!

After a more relaxed approach last month, (and plenty of good Orkney food!), this could be a tough one, now that we’re back in a hill-walking region! At least our first few days are busy ones, so there shouldn’t be too much time for Seanair to drag us hill walking. A little bit of rehabilitation could well be required!

I’ll write more a bit later, if I’m not totally shattered!

What a great weekend! There was the ‘Lochaber Dog Show’ on in the Nevis Centre. I was too late to enter, but I suppose that was probably a good thing. It was meant to be a competition after all, and I wouldn’t want to upset the locals by running away with all the prizes!

There were certainly some good looking dogs there! If I wasn’t quite so busy this year, I might have got to spend more time with one particularly dashing Dalmatian…

Still, there was plenty to see, and some really impressive looking dogs. Jumping, walking, and even just standing; it always amazes me how much better we dogs look compared to humans. I think it comes from four feet on the ground. We’re just more down to earth!

Well, I knew it couldn’t last. Having gone up Ben Nevis only 8 months ago didn’t stop Seanair from wanting to head up again! You’d think that having been all the way up there once would have done him, but … no! I tried to make sure that he took some pictures from the top this time though. That’ll stop him using ‘I want to see the views’ as an excuse again! Clever, eh?

There are a few other mountains around which aren’t much shorter than Ben Nevis, and he was keen to go up there too. One, Càrn Mòr Dearg, is connected to Ben Nevis via a ridge. Melodaidh thought it would be a good idea to head along the ridge! Fortunately, Morag didn’t want to go that way!

Something which was much more exciting was that we went on the ‘Jacobite’ from Fort William to Mallaig. It’s a stream train, and it was really cool! A good old fashioned choo chooo! The journey went over a viaduct, which is not only really impressive with its 21 arches, but it’s also in the Harry Potter films! That’s a real claim to fame!
