Ciamar a tha thu?

Inverness is a good place to start learning. There are thousands of Gaelic speakers here. Not long ago, about 30% of everyone in Inverness spoke Gaelic.

This information has inspired Seanair, who now approaches everyone and practises his: "Ciamar a tha thu?" on all possible occasions.

There's plenty to do, which means we've been for a loooong walk by the Caledonian Canal. My little legs are killing me already, and we've only been here for a few days! He's been keeping an eye on me so I haven't been able to use the heli-tache yet.

We're going to a huge street party to mark the Old New Year on Friday, which seems like a strange idea to me. It should be a great atmosphere - I love fireworks. At least I can see those .. it's not easy when you're a little dog to see too much!

Cheerio,

Walkies, walkies. Another year looking after Seanair, keeping him out of trouble. It's normally easy enough in the hills, but it's trickier in Inverness. There's so many potential distractions for him!

He's been trying to build up our fitness by walking up Creag Phàdraig. 'It used to be a fort long ago!' he says. I know that now!

Seanair's been wanting to learn Gaelic for years, and he thought this Highland 2007 year would be the ideal time to start. So Seanair, Munro Jr and I will be heading off around the Highlands and Islands. Not sure exactly where we're going to end up yet though as long as I can keep Seanair off the hills for at least some of the time, we might get to a few different things!

We've met up with another couple of Gaelic learners. One's called Morag, from Glasgow and the other's Melodaidh from Australia. Munro Jr's interest in Gaelic has increased a bit since Melodaidh turned up.
