A Biki burgundy chiffon and sequined evening gown, early 1970s, together with an evening clutch bag
Callas wore this gown during the 38° Gala de l'Union des Artistes at Winter Circus, Paris, 23 April 1971, with a pink cape above (see previous lot). The dress originally had a deep ruffled tulle trim to the cuffs and hem, but by 1973 these had been removed and the chiffon tunic had been added. She was photographed wearing this gown during her tour with Giuseppe Di Stefano all over the world in 1973-74, and more specifically: Philadelphia 11 February 1974, Los Angeles 5 May 1974, Tokyo, 19 October 1974.
