  Domestic violence 1 Feb 2006
Frank Mullane on his sister’s murder

In November 2003 Frank Mullane’s sister Julia Pemberton was shot dead by her estranged husband at their home near Newbury in Berkshire. Alan Pemberton also murdered her son William, aged 17, and later turned the gun on himself.

On the day that Frank challenges a ground breaking review of the case at the High Court, he talks to Jenni about the tragedy which affected his family, his campaign to raise awareness of domestic violence and his concerns about the proposed official homicide review into the circumstances surrounding Julia’s death.

Frank is the first person to instigate a homicide review into a death caused by domestic violence.
