US city women take action against discrimination
Six women are suing one of the world’s biggest investment banks for a record £800 million over allegations of sex discrimination.
It’s the latest in a series of high-profile cases on both sides of the Atlantic involving the way women are treated in the city, but unlike British cases, this one is a class action.
Does it herald a new trend, of women clubbing together to fight for equality in this most conservative of cultures? And what effect will this case, and other very visible cases like it, have on the position and pay of women in the city?
