Does it affect women's rights?

Does our desire to be culturally tolerant and understanding mean that women's rights are suffering? Should feminists in this country be more outspoken against certain cultural and religious practices which they see as oppressing women? Or are Western feminists guilty of too narrow an interpretation of "women's rights"?
