Theories from evolutionary history

According to the economist Paul Seabright, there's a paradox in that females control the scarce biological resources (i.e. human eggs) but in modern society and for much of human history, males have controlled most of the economic resources.

Later this week Professor Seabright will be giving the annual Royal Economics Society public lecture where he will provide his explanation as to why this is the case. He joins Jenni along with Dr Angie Hobbs, Lecturer in Philosophy at Warwick University to discuss the theories.
