The Archers actor in Alzheimer's campaign
This year, Radio 4’s The Archers won the mental health charity Mind’s "Champion of the Year" award for making the biggest contribution to ‘challenging the widespread stigma concerning mental illness’. One storyline that made a major contribution to the award was Jack Woolley’s dementia.
The storyline has been particularly poignant for June as her own husband Roger suffered with Alzheimer’s for 9 years before he died of a stroke 4 years ago. She has since become a patron for the Alzheimer’s Research Trust, and will be the face of their Christmas campaign this year.
