On her debut novel
Kathryn Fox spent more than 12 years working as a GP in Sydney but in the end her passion for crime writing triumphed over her love for practising medicine.
Her first novel Malicious Intent was published in the UK recently (in November). Her main character is pathologist and forensic physician Dr Anya Crichton who is asked to investigate the apparent suicide of a young Muslim woman from a Lebanese family.
Kathryn Fox talks to Martha Kearney about how her real life experiences as a doctor have influenced her fiction writing.
