 Age of sufferers decreasing
Four million people in the UK are thought to suffer from tinnitus - a buzzing or ringing in the ears usually associated with some hearing damage.
It has been on the increase over the past 20 years and the age of sufferers has decreased - in part due to the popularity of clubbing among the young.
Jane Little meets Christine Ang, a mother whose fifteen year old son developed tinnitus after going to a concert - she wants to make parents more aware of the dangers of overexposure to loud noise. Andy Shiach is an audiologist whose mission it is to promote the safe enjoyment of sound.
