Gender power dynamics  07 Nov 2005
How domestic violence affects men

Domestic violence doesn't just affect women, it affects men too as two well-publicised fracas have recently shown. Has the change in traditional gender roles made it easier for today's men to admit they are victims, or are they still scared of being called 'big girl's blouses' as the so- called 'EastEnders hardmen' were by the press?

Martha looks at the fallout from the media's treatment of domestic violence to men with Mark Coulter, who runs a men's advice line and Ellis Cashmore from the University of Staffordshire.
