Helping new parents focus on some of the more challenging aspects of parenthood
Having a baby is a major life event which for some brings as many problems as joys.
In recognition of the problems these might cause, Lyndan Askew, who's a couple worker for the York-based charity Family Matters, has developed a course of both anti-natal and post-natal classes, to help new parents focus on some of the more challenging aspects pf parenthood before or immediately after the birth.
The 'Baby Shock' course, as it's called, has been seized upon by health visitors, who are keen to adopt the material for use in their classes
