The centre piece of India's legendry wedding season

The Shamiana dates back to Moghul times, but is now more likely to be seen at a wedding than a royal camp.

It's an ornate canopy used to protect guests from the relentless sun of India ... or the relentless rain of Britain.

The shamiana often forms the centre piece of India's legendry wedding season. In Delhi 14,000 marriages can take place on a single day. Shamianas are becoming more popular in this country, also for weddings.
