The author talks about why it's important to play with children

Vivian Gussin Paley would agree. She worked as a kindergarten teacher in Chicago for 37 years and pioneered a technique in which children make up their own stories which are then acted out by the whole class.
This life-long investigation of play and story telling has led to twelve books and many awards, most recently the Outstanding Educator in Language Award. Her latest book is called A Child's Work, the importance of Fantasy Play. In it she shows how children's stories can reflect the realities of the outside world.
