What's really going wrong?

From binge drinking, depression, and poor body image, to STDs, Asbos and happy slapping - if you believe the headlines, there's never been a worse time to be a teenage girl.

Despite their sassy and streetwise image, a series of surveys this year have hinted at a darker reality: that 40% of them are growing up to believe that violence is an acceptable, normal part of relationships, that half of all sexually active 14 year olds have already had a sexual experience they regret, and that girls as young as 14 are suffering from depression.

Martha looks behind the headlines to ask what's really going wrong with our teenage girls? She'll be joined by reader in Social Psychology at Bath University,Dr Christine Griffin, jouranlistAmanda Platell and Dorit Braun, Chief Executive of Parentline Plus, a national charity providing support services to parents and carers
