 Why aren't there enough?
Imagine the frustration of not being able to be understood in a shop or on the phone; the dread of going to school because bullies make fun of your stammer; or hating eating because you nearly choke when you try to swallow your food.
Speech and Language therapists can help people overcome these problems. However it is estimated that 2.5 million people in the UK need the help of Britain’s 10,000 speech and language therapists.
Jenni speaks to Kamini Gadhok about the problems faced by those in the industry and the patients who need their help.
