After the Iran election
Last weekend Mahmoud Ahmadinejad caused a shock in Iran and around the world by being elected president against almost all predictions. He is regarded as a political hard liner who has said he will rule according to strict Islamic values.
What will this mean for women's political and social rights in Iran? And how close are women to achieving political equality in other Middle Eastern countries? Martha Kearney talks to Iranian journalist Nazenin Ansari diplomatic correspondent of Kayhan and Baria Alamuddin , foreign editor of Al Hayat, an independent Arab newspaper.
