Migration and gender 06 June 2005
How will the government's immigration plans impact on women migrants?

Today the Institute of Public Policy Research publishes a report into gender and migration.

It’s a response to the government’s five year plan on asylum, unveiled earlier this year. The report suggests that there is insufficient understanding about how gender affects migration around the world.  It also argues that the government’s policies, which are designed to privilege highly skilled migrants, may discriminate against women trying to enter this country.

So how does gender influence migration in an era of globalisation?
