Living in the shadow of her little brother Felix
Fanny's mum and dad spotted her talent at an early age. When it came to music Fanny was a child prodigy and as she grew she became one of the most gifted musicians of her generation. But who now remembers Fanny Mendelssohn - living forever in the shadow of her little brother Felix?
This year marks the 200th anniversary of Fanny's birth, with concerts to celebrate. Alison Prain looks at her life and her now growing reputation, with biographer Francoise Tillard, the musicologist Sophie Fuller and the pianist Diana Ambache.
