  Girl Soldiers 25 April 2005
The forgotten victims of conflict in the world’s hotspots

Think of a 'child-soldier' and likely as not you’ll see a young boy in fatigues toting a weapon as tall as he is. Not often does the term evoke images of girl soldiers – and yet they account for nearly half of those children caught up in conflict.

According to a newly published report from Save the Children, girls are used as fighters, skivvies and sexual possessions.

Jenni is joined by one of the report’s authors to talk about how the international community is failing to care for these girls.
