Are women the key to improving the bouncers' image?
A new law brought in on 11 April means that all door supervisors are required to hold a licence.
Aggressive males are a problem for the industry and women have proved they are often better at conflict management. So far 11% of licences have been granted to women, and the Security Industry Authority says female door supervisors are the key to improving the ‘bouncer’ image.
To get a licence it’s compulsory to attend a four day training course. Reporter Lily Ridett went along to one of the courses to find out more and also joined Beverley on the door of a London club.
