Necrotising Fasciitis is the life-threatening, invasive disease dubbed the flesh-eating bug by the press, due to the horrific symptoms and the speed with which it attacks
These sensational sci-fi headlines can lead to misconceptions about how necrotising fasciitis, or NF, is contracted and because it's so rare, ignorance can cause dangerous delays in recognising and treating it in time.
This week the Health Protection Agency for Infections has been holding an international symposium to discuss the latest research.
