Why the author of The Far Pavilions loved India so much
M M Kaye, known as Mollie, was born in India and brought up there during the time of the Raj. She hated living in Britain and always referred to India as home.
Her love of the place and its people inspired her most famous novel The Far Pavilions which has now been turned into a musical.
Jenni talks to her youngest daughter, Nikki Hamilton, and producer Michael Ward about Mollie’s passion for India.
