Why do parents spend more time teaching their pre-school daughters rather than their sons?
Statistics recently published by the Department of Education and Skills show that girls do better than boys in every area of learning before they are five.
This ties in with the findings of educational specialist, Iram Siraj-Blatchford, whose research shows that parents tend to spend more time concentrating on home learning with their daughters than with their sons.
Jenni talks to Iram and to author, Kristina Murrin about the issues surrounding these findings.
