How are women without children treated at work?
Women who chose not to have children were dismissed as insane in the nineteenth century and unnatural in the twentieth. The main political parties are flagging up their child friendly policies at the moment, from extending maternity pay to childcare subsidies.
So what effect does this have on the 20 per cent of women who will never have a child? Are they being forgotten about and treated as second class citizens in the political, work and social environments?
