Whenever an older woman has a child, we seem to go over the same old debate about motherhood over the age of 40.
But what about fatherhood in later life? Men can father children throughout their lives, but their sperm is not immune from the ageing process.
Jenni talks to the geneticist Professor Steve Jones and to writer and journalist, Rowan Pelling whose father was 58 when she was born and almost 70 when her sister was born.
