Bring on the guilt
Did your house in those teenage years resound to the phrase: "You’re not going out dressed like that"? Did your mum spend your youth instructing you about finding the right husband, or how much she wanted grandchildren? Did your mum exploit rifts between you and your siblings, to divide and rule you? Or did she simply embarrass you with her eccentricitc dress sense and bad jokes?
Martha is joined by comedian Shappi Khorsandi and writer Stephen Armstrong to discuss whether, one way or another, mothers are destined to ruin our lives.
