an independent candidate in Iraq's elections
Dr Salama Al-Khafaji will be standing as an independent candidate in Sunday's elections in Iraq. She's a dentist by profession, a Shiite Muslim by religion who wears an abaya - a full black covering - and is in favour of a secular government. She is also outspoken in support of women's rights.
There have already been three attempts on her life and her 17-year-old son was killed during an ambush by insurgents which also killed one of her bodyguards.
From Baghdad, Dr Al-Khafaji talks to Jenni about why she decided to enter politics.
