Credit card debt 25 January 2005
why are women most likely to owe money?

In the first of a regular slot, Woman's Hour looks at financial issues and how they affect women.

Our addiction to plastic has already turned the UK into the credit card capital of Europe. More than 35 million people now have one, and the associated debt now stands at £56 billion. But are women more likely to have credit card debt? And what is the best protection from the murky waters of personal debt?

Penny Haslam joins Jenni to discuss possible answers.
