The American performer Lea DeLaria was once described as the anti-Ellen - by which they presumably meant the unsanitized face of lesbian comedy.
As well as being a stand up, Lea has starred in Broadway musicals and in numerous TV programmes and she's well known in her native United States as a very out and proud lesbian activist.
Now she has gone back to her jazz roots with an album, Double Standards. The Guardian said of her that when she talks she sounds like a coffee grinder but when she sings! It's like a cross between Ella Fitzgerald and a Broadway diva.
Lea DeLaria singing Call Me from her new album and tells Martha who she choose the music for it.
