  Horseradish Wednesday 9 April 2003
If you're having beef, you're bound to be offered horseradish. Even the pubs for whom the word gourmet would not be applicable dish it out in a little packet along with the mustard and tomato sauce.

The Book of Exodus mentions horseradish as one of the bitter herbs of the Jewish Passover and during this season it's generally easy to find in the supermarket - you can buy the real thing.
