Death of a Pet - Listener Feedback 23 Apr 2009
Your responses to our discussion

Yesterday we discussed on Woman's Hour how people cope with the death of a pet.  Many people feel utterly lost when a pet dies. Some find it more difficult to cope with than the death of a relation. You don’t get letters of condolence. People says hurtful things like “It was only a dog,” or “only a cat.” “Get another.” There was an overwhelming response to the item with many of you sharing your own thoughts and experiences.
