Domestic Violence 31 Oct 2008
Every year the Government publishes its National Domestic Violence Delivery Plan –an annual progress report on the effectiveness of their plans to combat domestic violence. This year, the Government has been keen to expand its Specialist Domestic Violence Court Programme and to create Independent Domestic Violence Advisers. But how successful have they been and why does a recent Government report concede that new domestic violence laws have failed to lead to an increase in convictions? To discuss these issues Sheila is joined by Deborah McIlveen – National Policy and Services Manager, Women’s Aid [England].
