 Unusual glass creations from glass dresses, to glass instruments and glass puppets.
The International Festival of Glass in Stourbridge next weekend is the largest one in the country and proves that there's more to glass-making than vases and stained glass windows. As well as dresses made of glass, music created by glass and glass puppets, there will be an exhibition of work from 82 contemporary artists at the Glass Biennale. Judy Merry has been to Stourbridge to meet Janine Christley, the Director of the Ruskin Glass Centre, and has talked to Diana Dias-Leano [who makes glass dresses] and to Clive Chandler and Sally Rue [who will be mounting a shadow puppet production using glass puppets].
The International Festival of Glass is taking place in Stourbridge from the 22nd – 25th August 2008.
