Baby Talk 9 July 2008
Encouraging babies to talk.

This week, a government review into services for children with speech problems warned that, if difficulties in communication were not picked up and treated early, they could lead to children facing behavioural, emotional and social problems later in life. It is thought that up to half of children in some parts of the country have some sort of speech or communication problem. Our reporter, Angela Robson went to visit a project, run by speech therapist Beryl Hylton Downing, where new mothers are taught to communicate with their babies.
