More than 30 Iranian women were arrested on Sunday after a peaceful demonstration in front of the revolutionary court in Tehran. They had been protesting for equal rights with men and demanding to change the law on issues like polygamy, child custody and rules of evidence.
The group, which includes almost all the leaders of Iran’s women's movement, have now gone on hunger strike to protest against their arrest. The BBC’s Tehran correspondent Frances Harrison will be explaining the situation to Jenni. |
