 Kathryn Cross is 15 years old and about to follow in the footsteps of some of England’s greatest cricketers, including Freddie Flintoff. She’s the first girl to be selected for Lancashire County Cricket Club’s elite training academy – a system which produced the likes of Flintoff, Sajid Mahmood and James Anderson, all on duty in Australia for the Ashes. Kathryn began playing at just 8 years old and is from a sporting family – her father David played for Manchester City and Rochdale while her mother was an international netball player.
