Dr Patricia Majluf: Winner of a ?60,000 conservation award 11 May 2006
The coast of Peru has one of the richest and most important wildlife habitats in the world - from sea lions to penguins to birds. But because of climate change and over fishing it's in danger of disappearing forever, robbing the planet of one of its great treasures.

Dr Patricia Majluf has dedicated much of her life to saving it and now her work has been honoured with the Whitley Prize - one of the world's most prestigious, it's worth ?60,000.
