Are Polish Women's rights going backwards? 05 Apr 2006
Since the fall of Communism abortion has been virtually illegal in Poland.  Even in cases where the mother’s health is at risk it can still be difficult. So what impact are the restrictions on abortion and reproductive rights having on women’s lives in Poland?

Jenni speaks to  Alicja Tysiac, who was pregnant for the third time when she was warned by doctors that the pregnancy could cause her to go blind. And she discusses women's reproductive rights with Maria Halska who represents the Polish Association of Catholic Women, Prof Lena Kolarska Bobinska, a sociologist and director of the Institute of Public Affairs, and Wanda Nowicka, President of the Polish Federation for Women and Family Planning.
