 Frocks and Smocks – a top costume gallery reopens.
A dress worn by Audrey Hepburn and a 17th century cap worth twenty thousands pounds are just two of the items on display at one of Britain’s most important collections of fashion. The Gallery of Costume in Manchester has been closed for two years for refurbishment, and opens to the public again, on Saturday. It houses tens of thousands of items – making its collection one of the most important in the country.
