'Stop Before You Shop’ versus ‘Shop Until You Drop’

Would you say you’re a consumer… or a ‘turbo consumer’? If you’re the latter, a new book out this week may make for some uncomfortable reading. Its author, Neal Lawson, argues that turbo consumers, alongside the bankers and politicians, need to assume their share of the blame for our current economic malaise.  Shopping journalist, Lucia Van Der Post, and Neal Lawson join Jane to debate whether the notiion of ‘shopping 'til you drop’ has really had its day.

‘All Consuming’ by Neal Lawson is published by Penguin Books: ISBN 978-0-141-02941-2
