Work
Women in the recession 26 January 2009
Are women workers more at risk?

More women are losing their jobs compared to men according to the latest employment figures. It is thought that twice as many women as men are being made redundant in some parts of the country. The concern is that some are being laid off as a result of sex discrimination and Cabinet Ministers like Harriet Harman are said to be pressing for new measures to protect women and so called ‘female jobs’. Jane is joined by the BBC’s political correspondent Vicky Young.
