From Minnie the Minx to Johnny Bean
Open the pages of the Beano and you’ll see the character “Johnny Bean from Happy Bunny Green” – a naughty boy who enjoys teasing the locals. The comic describes the character as "Asbos come to Trumpton", but what’s unusual about this comic strip is that it is the work of the comic’s first ever regular female artist, Laura Howell. Jenni is joined by Laura and political cartoonist Martha Richler, better known as Marf to discuss what women bring to the art of cartooning. Laura Howell London Sketchbook.comDisclaimer
