A tribute to a singer described as the British Joni Mitchell
It's been 30 years since the death of singer/songwriter Sandy Denny but her influence on the folk rock scene remains. She emerged in the 60s singing traditional British folk music in her own style, and died just over a decade later having made the ground-breaking folk rock concept album Liege and Lief with Fairport Convention. On 1 December singers will be paying tribute to Sandy Denny in a special concert of her work on London’s Southbank. To look at the life and legacy of this extraordinary singer, Jane is joined by Radio 2’s Bob Harris and by singer/songwriter Chris While who sang all the songs from Liege and Lief with the original Fairport Convention line-up at a concert last summer.The Lady - A Tribute to SandyDisclaimer
