Coming out as a lesbian 1st October 2008
Is honesty always the best policy?

Last week Miriam Margolyes spoke on Desert Island Discs about how she regretted coming out as a lesbian to her mother. With the perceived wider acceptance of homosexuality, what hurdles do people face coming out, and how should this process be handled? Jane will be talking to the crime novelist Natasha Cooper about her experiences, and to Tim Franks, Chief Executive of PACE, a charity that promotes the mental health and emotional wellbeing of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
