A design to celebrate the Cathedral's tercentenary
Marie Brisou is the winner of a competition set by Central St Martin's College of Art and Design in conjunction with St Paul's Cathedral to design new vestments to celebrate its tercentenary. It's taken three years to complete the collection, from designing the woven silk and brocade patterns to completing the exquisitely detailed embroidery. But now the vestments are in regular use and are going on display at Central St Martins in an exhibition called "Glorious". Judi Herman went to the Cathedral to meet Marie and the women stitching her embroidery designs, and some of the key members of the team supporting her work.
The exhibition "Glorious" runs at the Lethaby Gallery, Central St Martin's College of Art and Design, from 24 September - 8 November. A Special Service of Dedication at St Paul's takes place on 30 September. St Paul's CathedralDisclaimer
