Reclaim 24 July 2008
A new project helping grils from tough areas turn their ambitions round.

Figures from the Home Office suggest that crimes committed by girls aged between 10 and 17 have risen by a quarter in the last three years.  A project called Reclaim is helping young women from some of the toughest areas in the country to turn their ambitions and their behaviour around. Thirty 12 and 13 year olds were chosen by their schools to attend a conference at Urbis in Manchester – the idea was to make them aware of their own potential to become leaders and to set a good example. Judy Merry reports.
