Women's Institute Speakers 24 June 2008
From agriculture to nuclear fission

The Women’s Institute has one of the largest speakers' circuits in the UK. The emphasis on education and skills is at the heart of the organisation. At most meetings members are treated to a “talk” by a specially booked speaker on subjects ranging from agriculture to nuclear fission. Some of the speakers have been working the circuit for years, others are keen to break into the field. Reporter Anna McNamee met some of the people who work the circuit including the author Martin Gurdon.
